The people who are in the car are incredibly bored by the gray landscape and cannot wait to get out of the state of Ohio. Recently I’ve been thinking about my native state and how I rarely see it in books, and when I do, it’s typically in a book about road trips. No, I’m indeed not from the most famous city in the state. She received her PhD in Communication Studies with a minor in Gender & Sexuality Studies from the University of Minnesota. And when I moved down here, people would ask me, “Oh, where are you from?” And I would say, “Ohio.” And then they would say, “Oh! Cleveland?” And I had to let them down.
